My little sis Jessica had her first baby on October 15th at 7:04 PM (I think). She is SOOO adorable! She is the first little girl on my side of the family. We are SO glad she is here and healthy! Congrats Jess and Josh!

Halloween 2011!

This year Daxton was Woody from Toy Story and Hayden was Buzz Lightyear. We made their costumes. I think they turned out pretty cute:) We went to Toquerville and saw the grandparents and then we went trick or treating in Hurricane with Rich, Heather, and Dean. Then we all went to JB's and ate. It was a fun night!

Daxton was doing some weird thing with his arm and I asked him what he was doing.
Dax: I'm shooting arrows!
Me: Shooting arrows?
Dax: Yeah like Robin Hood!
It was pretty cute...I think he has seen that movie once in his life and he remembered that:)
I put Daxton down for a nap the other day and I had the monitor on. He started singing the wheels on the bus and sang 4 whole verses of it! It was so cute.
Daxton loves playing angry birds on my phone. He can get to level 20 by himself!

Hayden has four teeth now. He likes eating whatever we are eating. He loves his big brother and loves to watch him and play with him. He is such a sweet and happy boy! Yesterday (10-16-2011) he said "dada" and "mama". It was so cute!:) I love my baby boy!

In August Dax came down with pneumonia. It was the saddest thing ever! He would just lay there and moan. They gave him a rocephin shot and then some oral antibiotics but he would NOT take the oral antibiotics so they ended up putting and IV in and giving him fluids and his antibiotic that way. He was really dehydrated and miserable. My poor baby:( We tried so hard to keep the IV in his arm but it still ended up going bad so the poor guys had to keep getting rocephin shots for the next three days (which do not feel good at all-I have had one). I felt so bad for him. But after the fluids and antibiotics he felt much better and was back to my happy little boy. I am so grateful he was able to get over it so quickly.

My camera is dead right now so I cant upload any pictures but I just wanted to catch up a little on what my boys have been up to. This past month has been a big one for Hayden! Here are some of the things he has been doing:
-He learned how to sit up himself (well, without falling over that is)
-Whenever we say "yay!" he gets a huge smile and claps his hands
-He is able to pick up his snacks and get them to his mouth:)
-He now has 3 teeth (the bottom two came in first, then one on the top)
-And last but not least, he now does the army crawl and can get anywhere he wants to go. My baby is growing up so fast!

Daxton is enjoying nursery. He has awesome nursery leaders whom he loves. He goes around the house singing the new songs he learns from nursery as well as the ones he learned from his elmo video:) Whenever he sees a steeple on a church he points and says "Look! The temple!" and then he goes on to tell us that angel moroni is on the top of the temple. What a cute kid! The other day he came up to me and said "Mom I needa tell you a secret," so I bent down and he came over and whispered "I love you" in my ear and then ran away and continued on with whatever he was doing. I love him!

We are pretty busy with John working and going to school, me working full time, and both of us teaching the 14 year old sunday school class at church. But we are having lots of fun and loving life!:) I will put pics up as soon as I get my camera batteries charged.

An eventful week!

So last week was a very full week full of fun stuff...and a lot of driving!:) We drove up to Salt Lake on Tuesday and went straight to Hogle Zoo. We stayed there for three hours. It was lots of fun! Daxton loved it! Then from there we went and ate dinner at Red Lobster. Then we drove up to Bear Lake(this was a spur-of-the-moment idea) to see my Dad and Sharon. We got up there at like 11:00 PM and then had to leave the next day at 2:00 PM so it was a quick trip but it was so good to see them! Dax loved playing on the beach. It was perfect weather! Hayden took a good nap on the beach in a little tent/canopy. It was so cute:) Then from there we drove back to Salt Lake, dropped the kids off at Erica and Bret's house, and John and I went to the American Idol Summer Tour Concert. It was really good! We were both deaf afterwards because it was so loud but it was so much fun!! After the concert we picked up the kids (it was like 11:00) and drove home. John and I were SO tired by the time we got home! It was 2:30 AM! Anyways, that was our fun week. Here are some pictures of our adventures.

My sister Katie graduated from high school! Yay! We are so proud of her!

CONGRATS KATE! We love you!!

My little brother (well, not so little anymore) got deployed to Iraq on June 4th:( We went to the "Embracing Our Heroes" goodbye ceremony on June 2nd. It was a neat program but it was sad. They performed songs like "I'm already there", "Unsung Heroes", and "God Bless the USA" which made me sad because Rich and I used to always sing that together at the top of our lungs when we were younger:) Anyway, I just pray that he stays safe and will return home safe to us soon.

So one day I decided to teach Dax how to play t-ball in the back yard. He loves all sports. He did so good! He actually hit the ball half way across the yard! Pretty good for a two year old!

What sweet boys I have! I sure am lucky! I love them SO VERY MUCH!!!

Daxton always says the cutest and funniest things. Here are a couple things he has said over the past couple months:
-The first time he saw me iron, he said "Mom whats that?". I told him it was the iron and that it was hot so he had to be careful. He replied with "Iron man is hot?"
-One time driving home from my Moms house Daxton saw smoke coming out of a chimney and he said "Mom look! Fireworks!"
-I was showing him his piggy bank and how to put money in it. Later in the day he asked me where his money pig was:)
-We were in Toquerville at Johns parents house and they have chickens. We were looking at them and all of a sudden Dax points a finger at the chickens and yells "Dont bark, chickens!!"
-Yesterday I told Daxton we were going to go bye-bye in a few minutes. When I asked him if he was ready to go he said "Yeah! We're going on a venture (an adventure)! It'll be great!"
-The other day I asked him if he was poopy. He said no and I said "I think you're lying". He replied with "I not a lion! I'm a Daxton!"
-Tonight I was putting a puzzle together with Dax on the living room floor and I was exhausted. I fell asleep for a few minutes and when I opened my eyes, he looked at me and said "You sleep good?":)
-We have been teaching Dax how to say prayers at night. One night he wanted to say it without help from mommy or daddy. It was the cutest thing ever. He said "thank you for walmart, thank you for the library, thank you for toquerville..."

Dax has mastered the computer. He knows how to play many mickey mouse clubhouse games and navigate his way around the webpage. We have a very smart little boy. Look how cute he is with those huge headphones on!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was yesterday. I had to work all day but John made roast beef dinner and we had family over to eat when I got off work. I feel SO lucky and blessed for having the opportunity of being a Mom

Here are the boys playing on the play place at Del Taco. Craig came down and joined Trish the day after the blessing. They stayed at our house on Sunday night. It was so fun to see them. The boys had lots of fun together. Between their family and ours we have 5 boys 2 and under!

So Daxton is one smart kid! I found some games for him to play on mickey mouse clubhouse online. One of them he calls "the choo-choo train game". It makes a pattern out of the railroad tracks and then he has to finish the pattern. John and I sat and watched him for like 10 minutes and he got every one of them right!

I can't believe how fast time flies! Hayden is already a month old! I dont feel like we have had him that long! He is such a sweet little guy! He sometimes gives us trouble with sleeping at night but we still love him:) Daxton is such a good big brother. Always bringing him his binkie and wanting to lay by him and give him kisses. Whenever Hayden starts to cry, Daxton goes over to him and says "Hayden boy" in the sweetest little voice like he is trying to make him feel better. I love my family!

Ok this blog thing is actually working for me for once (knock on wood!) so I am going to just put some random pictures and some more pics from Christmas since I didn't get very many posted before.

Dax got this car set for Christmas. You set up the tracks and put all the cars in place and push a button and it is a chain reaction thing where all the cars do something cool on the track. Dax loves it! Im pretty sure it is his favorite Christmas present. He has learned to set it up all by himself and the first thing he says every morning is "Play cars?"

He also loves this gift. Daddy took him outside to drive it. It took awhile for him to get the steering thing down but he sure has it now! He is a pretty good driver!:)

Dax has a new obsession-bandaids. He fell and hit his head and came straight to me and asked for a bandaid. So really, there is nothing underneath the bandaid, its just there for decoration:)

So let me tell you...it is kind of overwhelming at first when you have your second child. I mean...the first couple weeks were GREAT! Sweet new baby, family over to help out, John off work to help, meals brought in by ward members. But then...reality sets in and all of a sudden I am home alone with a two year old who would rather do anything but mind his mother, a baby who wants to scream his head off for who knows what reason, a list of "to-do's" that will never get done, a pile of laundry up to the ceiling, and a very messy house. That is what kind of day I had last week. Poor John felt so bad when he came home from school and had to go straight to work . He could tell I was falling apart. So when he came home from work that night, he brought me these beautiful roses and a lot of chocolate. Just what I needed! Thank you my love:)

Haydens birth story:
When I went in for my appointment on December 13th I was already dilated to a four. At work the next day I told my boss that, and she got the rest of my shifts covered and told me that that was going to be my last day. I get the feeling she didnt want me to have the baby at work:) I got my hopes up, thinking the baby would come within the next couple days. I started having really regular contractions on Friday the 17th and went in to see if I had progressed at all. I was dilated to a 5 so they monitored me for an hour but then sent me home because I hadnt changed at all while I was there. On Tuesday December 21st I went in for my appointment and my doctor stripped my membranes. She said I was so close to having the baby that she wanted me to come back in 2 hours to get checked again. We went to Walmart and then went home and by 10:00 I was having really painful contractions pretty close together. I went in and she sent me straight to labor and delivery. Sure enough I was dilated to a 7 and 90% effaced. I was afraid I wouldnt have enough time to get an epidural! But they came and gave me one right away, thank goodness! They only gave me one dose of the medication rather than the kind where you can push a button to get another dose because I was so close to having the baby. But it started to wear off right before I was supposed to start pushing. They came and gave me another dose and luckily it kicked in right in time. We had baby Hayden at 12:38 pm. YAY!!! What a beautiful baby boy!

Daxton is such a cute big brother! He always says things like "Hold it?" , "See baby Hay-in?", and "Aww cute!" and he always wants to rub his head and lay by him and give him kisses:) Dax had adjusted a lot better than I thought he would and it is so cute to watch him with Hayden!

Hayden finally joined our family on Tuesday, December 21st. He weighed 6 lbs 9 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. He is such an adorable, sweet little boy and we love him so very much! We are so excited that he is here!So I really must not be very good at this blogging thing because the last ten pics I tried to put on somehow got erased. So...I will try again another time. But here are a few at least-

Halloween!

Daxton was Elmo for Halloween. He loves Elmo! Gwen (Johns sister) made his costume. I think it turned out so cute! On Friday we went to the Halloween party at my work. All the residents were sitting in a circle around the dining room and they handed out candy to the kids who came. Daxton thought it was the coolest thing ever that everyone was giving him candy!:) It was so cute! Then on Friday night we went to the trunk or treat at the church with my Mom, Emily, Heather, and Dean. Dean was a little pumpkin and he looked SO cute! On Saturday we went to Toquerville, got some family pictures done, and hung out with the family. We took Dax trick or treating to one house and then decided it was too cold and he had enough candy anyways:) All in all, it was a fun Halloween!

We painted pumkins for Family Home Evening before Halloween and Daxton had a blast! When we were done he kept saying "paint puckins?" because he wanted to do more. What a cute little boy!

For the 4th of July we did fireworks with our friends Brenda, Caleb, and Becka. Daxton and Becka loved smashing the poppers with their feet. It was so cute:)

OUR BIG BOY!

When Dax turned a year and a half, we decided to get him a big boy bed, especially with the new baby on the way. He took to it SO well! He loved it! And he is so proud of it because its a "Cars" bed and that is his favorite movie. When we were done setting it up and putting the sheets on, he crawled right in and covered himself up:) We were worried that he wouldnt stay in it but he has done so well! We couldnt have asked for him to do better with it. He has only fallen out of it twice (at the beginning.) He still loves his bed only now he would rather jump on it than sleep on it:)

This is the 24th of July parade in Cedar. The boys didnt really know what to think about it. Especially the fire truck sirens. Daxton didnt like that part at all. WAY too loud!

Heathers baby shower! It turned out to be a good success and they ended up getting some really nice stuff. We made her a diaper cake and John made a baby carriage out of a watermelon that we filled with fruit. Such a talented hubby I have:)

We went camping with Lacey & Seth and Craig & Trish on our way up to Bear Lake. It was fun during the day but the night turned out to be kind of a disaster. Hyrum and Henry were sick and couldnt sleep, it was raining, windy, and there was thunder and lightening, and to top it off I got sick and threw up in the middle of the night! Wow. Anyways, it was fun to spend some time with our friends:)

Dax is so funny...he went through this phase where he had to wear his hats to bed. Not one hat but two!:) I had to sneak in after he fell asleep and take them off. What a cute kid!

On April 25th, we found out some good news! We are pregnant! And then on August third we found out we are going to have another boy! Yay! Daxton and the new baby will be two years apart exactly and I am sure they will be the best of friends. We are SO excited! And Dax is so cute. He touches my tummy and says "baby". Although I know he doesnt fully understand it, its really cute:)

Dax is talking like crazy now. Here are some things he says/does lately that are completely adorable:

-He says and signs please and thank you

-He can say almost everyones name in the family and some of his friends names

-He says "do it!" when he wants to do things himself, such as getting into his carseat

-He says "where go?" and "there is!" when he is looking for something and then finds it

-He saw a big inflatable spider at the store and now every time we pull up to the store he says "big spider!"

-When he is doing something he thinks is cool he says "watch!" and makes you watch him do it

-If we cut his sandwich into pieces, he will hand us a piece he thinks is too big and say "big!" and wont eat it until we cut it smaller

-One of his favorite things to do is get on top of the plastic tote at the foot of his bed and jump from that onto his bed yelling "jump!"

-He says "love you!"

-He loves taking care of his new little cousin Dean. He helps feed him, brings him his binkie, and gives him kisses. Whenever he sees him, he says "Dean!" and then asking if he can hold him, says "Hold it?":)

-Dax is obsessed with the movie "Cars" and he also loves Elmo and the newest one is Spongebob, or "bob-bob". First thing he says in the morning is "Cars! Watch it?"

-He loves going down the slides at the park. He can even go down the bigger ones by himself now. Its so cute!

There are so many more but I cant list them all! Anyways, he is growing up so fast! He is such an independent little boy, but at the same time he doesnt let you forget that he needs his mommy and daddy. We sure do love our little man!

This year at Bear Lake was SO much fun because Daxton could run around and play. It was so fun just to watch him explore and play in the water and the sand. It was also fun just to be with family. Just think...next year we will have two little guys! :)

I haven't updated my blog for nine months! We haven't had internet at our house and it's too hard to do it at the library or anywhere else when Dax is with me. So I have a LOT of catching up to do!:) I will try to do it chronologically.

Starting with New Years! We spent New Years Eve with our good friends Brittany, Steve, and TJ. We played games and ate and just had fun:)

Ok so I decided that I am either really computer illiterate or else I hate blogging! I just spent forever trying to upload new photos and it took like 25 minutes and now only one showed up! Anyone has any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong I would really appreciate it. As of right now, I am done trying to update the stupid blog:)

Then end of December was a crazy time for our family! Daxton turned one and we had a big birthday party for him. My brother Richard got married! Yay! Im so happy for him and Heather! This months milestones:
-Plays tug-of-war with Dakota

-Can turn daddys playstation on and off (he learned that one today:))

-At least two more teeth starting to break through (he has 7 right now)
-Rode in the "shopping cart car" at Smiths (ya know, the little kid cars that are attached to the front of some shopping carts? He loved it!)

So Daxton is now eight months and 6 days old. He is getting so big! He has five teeth already! He is so darn cute! John says he has a nerdy smile when his top teeth show but I think its adorable:)

Daxton finally met his best friend Mason! They have known about eachother forever but this was the first time they actually got to see eachother. Yay!

We went fishing with Brittany, Steve, and TJ Kroff up at Yankee Meadow. It was lots of fun! Steve and Brittany both caught a fish as soon as they cast their line out. It was pretty cool!

We can't believe Daxton is 6 MONTHS OLD!!!

Today was Daxton's first time going swimming! I think he actually liked it! We are getting him prepared for Bear Lake. We are going up in August and we are excited!

John's brother Paul is leaving on his mission on July first. He just had his farewell on Sunday. Daxton sure does love uncle Paul! He lights up whenever he sees him! We will miss him.

Grandma decided to introduce Daxton to Oreos:) Wow he sure did like them!

I passed the NCLEX! YAY! I am done with school forever!:) It feels so good to be done with that! It was so hard and I didn't think I passed but I did and I am SO happy about it! 5 Months Old Already!!
My baby is growing so fast! Today we went to the park. Daxtons likes being outside. So does Dakota. It was really nice weather and we had lots of fun. We found out that Dax likes strawberries!:)

Mothers Day made me think about how lucky I am. First of all, I have a wonderful husband. He does so much for me and for our family. This last weekend he sanded, painted, and rearranged the kitchen cabinets so that we can fit our new dishwasher in! Yay! Then last night he didn't get off work until three in the morning but after work he went to Walmart and got me some very good chocolate and a cute card. I am so grateful for my husband and man am I lucky that I got such a good one!:)
Also, I always knew that I wanted to be a mother but I love it even more than I could have ever imagined! I love my little boy SO much! I couldn't have asked for a better baby. He is so happy all the time, he's healthy, and he sleeps and eats well. So basically, my thoughts are that I am very blessed and I have the best family in the world.

Graduation! I am finally done with school! I am an RN! YAY!

On Friday Daxton was admitted to the hospital with RSV. It was really scary! That is the saddest thing ever having to watch your baby go through all these tests and getting an IV and stuff. I dont reccommend it:) Anyways, they kept us in the hospital until Sunday and now we are home and he is doing much better. We are so grateful that he is doing okay. We love our little guy so much!

I hardly ever have time to blog, which is sad because I take SO many pictures of Daxton. I wish I could blog more but I am still in school full time finishing up the nursing program, and I also dont have internet at my house. So right now I am in American Fork at my moms and I am using her internet so hopefully I can update it a little bit. There are several things I want to blog about. We just visited my Dad and Sharon in Texas last week. It was their first time meeting meeting baby Daxton. He is their first great grandchild! Congratulations:) We had lots of fun while we were there! Daxton was blessed on February 22 at Johns parents house in Toquerville. John gave Daxton a beautiful blessing and we got to spend time with lots of the family and some friends. Also, my best friend Lacey's baby Mason was born in October and I never had the chance to put pictures of him up before Daxton was born. But he sure is a cutie! And Lacey and Seth are getting sealed to him in a month! YAY! Craig (Johns best friend) and his wife Trish just had their twins on Wednesday. We just went to see them. Hyrum is teeny! Only five pounds! And Henry is 6 pounds. I will also post some recent pictures of Daxton.

Here is the long-awaited beautiful bed that John made me for Christmas. He spent so much time and effort on it. He had a friend help him set it up in the living room on Christmas Eve and hung a sheet up in the hall so that I could only go from the bedroom to the bathroom and couldn't see into the living room. When I came out on Christmas morning I was so excited! He did such a great job! What a wondeful husband I've got myself:)

This was our first Christmas together (well...being married). It was lots of fun! We spent Christmas Eve with Johns family in Toquerville and spent Christmas morning at our apartment, and then Christmas afternoon with the family in Milford. I love Johns family...they are all so great!
